UN Elects 3 Judges to Preside over RP-China Territorial Dispute.

Finally, a bit of good news for the Philippines, the United Nations (UN) has finally elected 3 Judges to hear the complaints filed by the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) regarding the RP-China territorial dispute on the West Philippine Sea. These 3 Judges will try to learn, understand and find out, based on evidences submitted by the Philippine Government and hopefully by China’s Government on who really has the right to claim the Spratly’s Islands.

If both countries claiming the Spratly’s Islands will submit themselves on the  United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS) and agree to accept, obey and abide the UNCLOS final decision; then the territorial dispute will be finally over. China has openly refused the proposition of the Philippines to present their disagreement over the Spratly’s Islands issue before the UNCLOS and the Chinks may show their unwillingness again to prevent any UN decision on the matter.

China may continue to assert their ownership of the whole West Philippine Sea by virtue of their so called “historical claims” but these unfounded, unproven and unsubstantiated declarations are simply not acceptable to the whole International Community. Let the UNCLOS finally decide on the territorial claims on the Spratly’s Islands so that the differences, clashes and rows over that area can be finally resolved. Let the UN make the decision on the Spratly’s Islands territorial claims and then gracefully accept the UN verdict. No one is above the law!!!
