Filipina Drug Trafficker Executed in China.

Another Filipina drug trafficker was executed in China a couple of days ago. Her name, age and address in the Philippines were not disclosed by the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) as requested by her family.

According to news reports, the Filipina was caught carrying 6 kilos of heroin in her luggage by the Chinese authorities. She had been frequenting China more than 18 times as a tourist as reported by the Chinese Police.

Senator Vicente Sotto III and Senator Gregorio Honasan said that the Philippine Government should stop helping Filipinos that are caught abroad for drug trafficking and that should serve as a deterrent to others who are planning to break the laws.

Well, I don't like these two Senators for their past performances but I do agree with them now. Filipinos who are caught carrying drugs here and abroad should be punished and if necessary, given the death penalty. Drugs mess up lives and it's the young people that are often victimized.

The Government said that it will implement strict rules and guidelines to prevent our citizens from being recruited as drug traffickers here and abroad but that is wishful thinking. These Filipino drug traffickers know what they are doing and they are blinded by the money that is being offered to them by the drug lords.

Every time that they get caused and sentenced to die, these criminals often say that they are innocent of the charges or they are not guilty of any crime. Most of them even blame their economic difficulties as the reason why they were forced to deal or carry illegal drugs.

That is plain and simple crap! Poverty does not give you the right nor the excuse to engage in illicit and unlawful actions. Being poor does not mean that you can steal, con or murder anybody. Engaging in drug trafficking and selling drugs are the worst crimes.

So I agree with Senators Sotto and Honasan, let these drug traffickers and drug mules rot and die in various prison cells here and abroad. It's their choice to engage in illegal activities so the Government should not assist them when they get caught red-handed.

By the way, more than 28 Filipinos are in death row for drug trafficking in China and more that 100 are in prison for the same offense. Yup, more Filipinos are going to get executed in that country....
