A
newborn baby was found abandoned in a
grassy vacant lot in Caloocan City a few days ago. The person who discovered
the child said that at first they thought it was just a kitten crying out loud
but upon closer study, it revealed a wet, muddy and shivering baby!
The
child was immediately brought to the nearest medical facility where it was
cleaned up and treated for any disease or infection. After medical personnel
found nothing wrong with the infant it was turned over to the Department of
Social and Development Welfare (DSWD) for safekeeping.
The
police are now looking for the newborn’s mother but I doubt it if they will
find her. Now, what kind of mother would leave her own child in a grassy vacant
lot on a rainy night? I mean, if she can’t take care of her child then she
should have left it on someone’s doorstep after knocking on their door or maybe
left her baby on a Church or Monastery after making sure that someone will find
her child immediately to assure its safety.
Leaving
the child on a grassy lot on a rainy evening is really stupid, cruel and
heartless. What if a stray dog, a snake or a wild animal bit or ate the child?
What if the child died from exposure and hypothermia? This uncaring, callous and
cold blooded person that abandoned that child will certainly have a place
reserved for him/her in hell…
