Typhoon Pablo Victims Ransack DSWD Relief Goods.

Thousands of typhoon Pablo victims have ransacked the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) office in Davao City for its supply of relief goods. The people who were severely affected by the storm got fed up waiting for the Government and for the DSWD to distribute the much needed goods so they looted the office. A few policemen were dispatched to the scene to try and stop the looters but they were outnumbered by the mob.

The looters complained that the DSWD, the local officials and the Government are deliberately delaying the food distribution to serve as bargaining chips for the upcoming Elections this May. The typhoon victims said that local officials are giving the relief goods to the wrong people and not to the real casualties and victims of typhoon Pablo. Of course, the DSWD and the local officials denied these accusations but I strongly believe that the typhoon victims will not ransack and loot the DSWD office if the Government has been doing its job well.

I do believe that the local officials are deliberately hoarding, slowing down and disrupting the delivery and distribution of the goods to force their constituents to vote for them this May. It's usually the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for these asshole politicians. In this country, politicians regularly use relief goods as a leverage to gather support, followers and voters to assure their victory in the Elections.

I guess it's like giving a few scraps of food to a hungry puppy. Throw a small amount of food to thousands of hungry and desperate people and they will be forced to vote for you come Election day. Yup, now you see what kind of officials we elect as leaders. Opportunistic and heartless SOBs!

These Local officials are probably delaying the lists of recipients to the DSWD until the very last few weeks before the Elections so that the victims will "remember" the Officials that gave them food. DSWD Secretary Dinky Soliman may or may not know this but politicians in our country have always resorted to dirty tactics since the day that they were born. Yup, victimize the victims. Torture the already heavily tortured....

The cops called them looters but I beg to disagree, these people are simply hungry and desperate that is why they stole the food supplies. I'm not condoning their acts but if I were on their situation, with my family starving....I would have done the same.

These dirty and corrupt officials better stop messing with the poor and the unfortunate. Desperate people make impulsive, violent and dangerous actions. Opportunistic,  devious, cunning and heartless politicians better watch out. You might just end up hanging on the nearest tree, you SOBs!!!
