A water consumer group alleged that Maynilad and Manila Water has overcharged its consumers more than Php6Billion for aborted dam projects and has to refund that amount to its consumers. The Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System (MWSS) admitted that the 2 dam projects were scrapped but denied that the two water concessionaires has to refund anything to its consumers. The MWSS even said that the 2 water providers have to charge the public with more than Php120Billion!
What the hell is going on here? A consumer group said that the 2 water companies overcharged its consumers but the MWSS says no and tells us that we have to pay more! The MWSS is a government agency tasked to monitor any abuses made by the 2 water corporations but it appears that MWSS is not only protecting Maynilad and Manila Water but it's also conniving with them to overcharge and screw the consumers. The MWSS is another stupid and corrupt government agency that is cheating and stealing the hard earned money of ordinary Filipinos. It is obvious that the MWSS is in cahoots with Maynilad and Manila Water and they are taking us for a ride! Screw the MWSS, Maynilad and Manila Water!!!
Before the Philippine Government and MWSS let the 2 water companies take over the water system in the Metro, water was priced at at less than Php9 per cubic meter. The MWSS and the 2 water concessionaires promised the public that once they took over the water supply, the price would even go lower and the services would dramatically improve. Sure, the services improved and the rates went down but after a few years the rates slowly went up. Water now costs between Php35-45 per cubic meter and it will keep on going up! Now, after overcharging us consumers with 6 billion pesos for aborted dam projects; the 2 companies and the corrupt MWSS are planning to charge again 120 billion pesos! Are they crazy or what???
The MWSS should be abolished as it is a useless and a corrupt government agency. This agency is notorious for having huge salaries, benefits and bonuses yet it can't protect the water consumers from abusive water companies and exorbitant water fees. The MWSS is in conspiracy with these 2 equally greedy water providers. Instead of protecting the Filipino consumers from abusive companies, the MWSS is conniving with these 2 pricks. You can never trust anybody in our government; we should have known better right from the start. Now we are at their mercy, we are again in deep shit!
