Private Hospitals Threaten to Stop Accepting PhilHealth Cards.

The Private Hospitals Association of the Philippines (PHAP) is threatening to stop accepting PhilHealth cards soon. This is because of the alleged failure of the government health agency in paying all the discounts given by these private hospitals to PhilHealth card holders/members and their beneficiaries. The PHAP said that PhilHealth owes them more than Php2Billion in refunds and that figure is growing everyday. The PHAP members fear that the PhilHealth will not be able to pay them up and that it will cause their members to go belly up.

The PhilHealth was quick to deny these allegations and even said that the government agency has more than enough funds to pay all the PHAP members. The health agency said that the payments are just getting delayed due to the huge amount of claims, processing of paper works and because they have to verify if the refund claims are legit or not. In the past, PhilHealth had a lot of fake or padded up refund claims from doctors and hospitals so PhilHealth is careful now on releasing funds. Yes, even doctors in this country are crooks too!

This is also denied by the PHAP and even cited one private hospital in Cebu which PhilHealth allegedly owes more than Php13Million in refunds. The PHAP members suspect that the government health agency doesn't have the funds to pay up and may be close to bankruptcy. The agency was quick to deny this and said that PhilHealth is releasing or paying more than Php1Billion everyday to pay all of these private hospitals. Great, we have two important entities that are bickering, arguing and denying about huge amounts of money while millions of Filipinos are getting sick and in desperate need of financial and medical assistance.

I hope the PhilHealth agency won't go belly up since it has helped a lot of poor and destitute Filipinos. The agency has promised a lot of new benefits and incentives to its members but as always you cannot trust those that are controlling any government institution in this country. As long as it involves millions and billions of funds, rest assured that some asshole who works in the Philippine Government will try his best to steal all of that money. You can never trust a government agency or leader in this country to do what is right, they are all thieves. In the end, it's always the poor Filipinos that end up as victims....

  1. This is really shameful for the Govt of Philippines. Govt have no right to rule if they can't provide health services to their citizens.

    1. It's not only the Health Care that is not addressed in this country. Education, crime prevention, speedy trial of cases, arrest and prosecution of corrupt public officials, etc.

In this nation, it's always the poor folks that suffer most while the crooks in Government get fat and rich with our taxes.

I guess this will always be the story of this country as long as we keep on voting those crooked politicians and keep patronizing their political dynasties.

By the way, some of the doctors are greedy that's why they keep on attacking the Health Care in the Philippines. Yup, avarice, greed and gluttony is their middle name just like the politicians.

      Thanks for your comments.

  3. Sad to say but my country has always been a failed state ever since Ferdinand Marcos Sr. came to power 30 years ago.

We were once ahead of every Asian nation before World War II because of the US. After the war we rebuilt our nation and was still a country that was decent and honest.

All of that changed when Marcos became our President, he taught all public servants to lie, cheat and steal.

Just look at our nation now, the vast wealth is in the hands of the political leaders while the ordinary folks are wallowing and sinking deeper and deeper in poverty.

It will never change if we keep on voting corrupt officials. I guess its our fault since we easily forgive, forget and never regret electing thieves our our Government.

    Thanks for your comment.

    1. Sorry for the late reply, a glitch in this website kept me from posting my comments.

Well, we Filipinos have a character of keeping our patience until we finally get fed up and explode. Filipinos have always been humble and tolerant which is often mistaken as stupidity or weakness on our part.

Sure we could raise hell and kick out every bad leader in this country, we already did that with Pres. Marcos and then again with Pres. Erap in the past. But who will take over when the corrupt leader is taken out? Another corrupt Politician?

Graft and corruption is now deeply rooted in this country, oftentimes we have seen other political leaders urging the citizens to again remove a bad leader like Ex-Pres. Arroyo but the public didn't listen. Why? It's because the Filipinos can clearly see that nobody is honest and worthy enough to take over the leadership.

The political leaders of this country are just jerking us around, maybe they think they can manipulate all of us to help them unseat a corrupt leader so that they can take over and then DO THE SAME EVIL THINGS!

To prove my point, if you just look at the political candidates next elections, they are all the same thieves an scoundrels! So how can we get rid of these scumbags? Through violent means?

The Filipinos' only chance is to vote and choose wisely next elections but even that is easier said than done....Getting rid of these scoundrels and thieves will not be easy because they have all the GUNS,GOONS AND THE GOLD! Thanks for your comments and God bless...
