A lot of credit card fraud syndicates are all over the Metropolis these days. They can easily copy all the information stored in your credit card by using a small gadget that they have. All they have to do is pay the employees in certain establishments who handle the credit card transactions from their clients to swipe the card into the gizmo and all the info in that card is copied.
The small electronic device which no bigger than a matchbox is then given back to the syndicate and the information inside is then accessed through a computer and a similar or cloned credit card is made from it. The cloned or fake credit card is then used to buy expensive things at the nearest mall, restaurant or gas stations, etc. and later on sold at bargain prices or supplied to a fence or a person that buys and sells stolen goods. It's that easy to lose your money these days and it's that easy to simple to steal money in this computer age.
The police are warning the public against carelessly handing over their credit cards at the various establishments. The coppers are advising the people to always keep their credit card in view while the employee of the business firm is swiping their card at the card reader as it can be easily swiped too in the gizmo that is being used by the syndicates. Yup, the cops are always great in advising the public but they never arrest, stop or capture any criminals.
The gadget being used by the culprits are bought in China according to an informer for US$500. The con group then pays the employees in malls, restaurants, gas stations and any establishment that accepts credit cards Php1,000 for each credit card that they can swipe or copy using the Chink gizmo. So if the corrupt employee can copy 10 credit cards a day then he gets paid Php10,000 for a day's work. Not bad for a minimum wage earner eh? Except.....it's illegal to clone credit cards!!!
A thousand pesos per cloned credit card is a small price to pay once the syndicate gets all the information on your card. The criminals will max out your credit card once they make a copy of it. The authorities should do something about this to stop these criminals or it may cause a lot of problems in the near future. I don't use credit cards since I can't afford one but a crime is a crime and it must be stopped immediately by the cops. The pigs should act fast on this one before it gets out of hand.
