Honest Horse Cart Driver in Rizal Park Returns Lost Tourist Wallet.

A decent and honest horse drawn cart driver at the Luneta Park returned a lost wallet of a French lady tourist with EU$4,000 intact. The morally upright Filipino is named Jaime Mayor and he said he was never tempted in pocketing the Euros inside the wallet. He said he was proud to have seen on TV the honest janitors, cab drivers and other ordinary Pinoys that have returned lost items belonging to foreigners and local folks so Mr. Jaime Mayor said that he wanted to emulate their good deed. That's why he returned the lost wallet to the French lady who owns it.

The French lady tourist gave Jaime a hug and thanked him. I bet that French woman would tell her friends back home in France about the honesty and integrity of ordinary Filipinos despite our extreme poverty. I hope that it will boost our tourism industry and provide more jobs for people like Jaime Mayor. Yup, it feels great to know stories about such decency and righteousness especially in a country that is governed and run by greedy, corrupt, scumbags and scoundrel public officials. Yes folks, the ordinary Filipinos are better off morally than our rich, educated and powerful leaders; but I guess most of us commoners already know that, right?

The government gave Jaime Mayor an award of appreciation for his good deed and PhP20,000 cash. The poor "kutsero" (horse-cart driver) certainly deserves that 20K since we all know that he is not a rich man. To all foreign and local tourists out there, come and visit our country the Philippines; where the ordinary poor folks are honest and decent. As for our leaders and people who work in government, never mind them as they might just screw you over. It's better to mingle with the honorable, poor and simple folks than with the filthy rich scumbags in government.
