A dumb-assed crooked cop who tried to extort money from a young man making a cell phone call inside his car at night was fired by a Police General. The stupid and corrupt policeman was named SPO4 Jose dela Pena who tried to pull a fast one on the teenager who was just making a call inside his car parked in a deserted street. The pig accused the hapless victim of engaging in phone sex and proceeded in searching the kid's car for illegal stuff. Then the copper took over the car's steering wheel and drove it to the nearest Automatic Teller Machine (ATM) and asked the kid to pay PhP20,000 as fine for his violations.
It could have been a profitable night for the asshole cop named Jose dela Pena except the kid said he only had PhP5,000 in his ATM account so he begged the pig to accept the amount for his release. The young man tried to bargain for his freedom but the greedy cop wouldn't give him a discount and insisted on the 20K. So the cop told the kid to call up his dad so that dela Pena can explain the PhP20K "bail" clearly to his parents. The kid obliged the pig and called his dad on his cell phone.
Asshole dela Pena was probably counting the crispy bills in his head and dreaming of the booze, drugs and whores that he can buy from that 20K but alas; all evil deeds will soon come to its end. Dela Pena was shocked to find out that the parent he was talking to was Police General Leonardo Espina of the Philippine National Police (PNP). I guess dela Pena's wet dreams came crashing down after the voice in the cell phone introduced himself as a PNP General. The dumb cop just gave the phone back and let the kid go scot-free. Shit! Dela Pena's 20K just went down the drain! LOL.
The very next day, Gen. Espina held a press conference and exposed the crooked cop's attempt to extort money from his son and vowed to purge the PNP of all rogue cops and bad eggs. Gen Espina said he was doing this move not because his own son got victimized by a scumbag cop but because it's his duty to clan up the ranks of the PNP. Well and good but I don't believe that crap!
It is obvious that the Police General is irked that his beloved son was almost preyed upon by a crooked cop; therefore the general is cleaning up the PNP faster than a speeding bullet. For many decades now, the PNP is full of bad eggs, crooked cops, rogues or whatever you may want to call them. Gen. Espina is out for vendetta and I guess it does the PNP and the public some good, at least for a short while.
There are thousands of bad cops in the PNP and taking out a handful of asshole cops won't make a big difference. The PNP will remain a pus filled institution for many more decades because the Top PNP Brass itself is full of corrupt and asshole Generals. The Generals are always good at making kickbacks and anomalous deals amounting to millions and billions of pesos so understandably the ordinary cops would also end up as crooks. Not all cops are crooks but the honest ones are clearly outnumbered by the scumbags. How can the leadership of an institution tell the lower ranks to behave if the Top Brass itself is worse than a festering wound? That is the grim but honest truth.
I bet Gen. Espina is filthy rich and is a crooked cop too and it needed another dishonest pig to victimize his son to finally make a general purge the PNP of bad eggs. The only difference between a crooked General and an ordinary crooked cop is the amount of money that they steal and the way they do it. A General steals by the millions or billions with just a couple of simple "signatures" on Government deals while a lowly bad cop has to do it the old, hard and old fashioned way, through extortion and the profit he gets is really small compared to a general's kickbacks.
