Ex-Cop Carjacks SUV in Tondo, Manila.

An SUV was carjacked a couple of days ago in Tondo, Manila. It was right after the driver/owner got out of the vehicle to enter his home, he was with his daughter when the incident happened. The car thieves just casually approached the victims, pointed their guns at the hapless father and daughter tandem, took the keys and took off with the car.

A simple carjacking job that always takes place many times a day in our country. Except this one differs a bit since the stolen car had a Global Positioning System (GPS) gadget inside it and it was still functioning. The GPS gizmo gave the owner's information that their car was just a few blocks away and the cops started looking for it in the many warehouses in the area.

Cops said the head of the carjacking syndicate that stole the SUV was a former cop and that is why the group is hard to neutralize. Huh? The guy's an ex-copper and the real cops can't stop him from doing terrible things? That's a load of crap if you ask me! I bet this ex-cop gives grease money to some of his buddies still active in the police force that's why he always eludes arrest from his peers.

In a similar story, a van also stolen in Cavite and it also had a GPS device on it. The thieves were inside a motel waiting for the right time to elude the cops when suddenly the buggers were already surrounded by the pigs. I can imagine the surprise of the assholes when they first head the cops ordering them to surrender in the police bullhorn. GPS gadgets on cars are a bit new so car thieves haven' figured out yet how to disable them but in due time these gizmos will be useless as these scumbags will soon learn how to remove them.

The criminals probably thought that they just have to chill out for a while inside the motel, change the license plates after they finished relaxing and drinking a few cold beers before proceeding to the used car parts businessmen in Banawe, Quezon City or in Pampanga. Yup, it's where the stolen cars end up or at least their most of their parts after the whole car is stripped down; the engine block and the chassis of the vehicles which have serial numbers stamped on them are just discarded.

Nobody buys a whole stolen car for personal use because it's easy for the cops and the Land Transportation Office (LTO) to catch fake license plates or registration papers. Only cops use "recovered stolen vehicles" or carjacked cars for their own personal use because who's going to arrest a cop if he commits a crime? Civilians like me and you? Nah, I don't think so! Unless you want a bullet in your gut.....

You see folks, when your car breaks down or gets damaged by an accident and you go to a car repair shop to have it fixed; the shop owner will repair the damaged parts if it's still possible and if it's beyond repair then will replace it with a used car part, let's say a door of a fender. Now, to keep the costs low car repair shops and even legitimate car insurance companies use second hand parts; that way the cost is minimized and they increase their profits more.

Almost every car repair shop and car insurance companies do that and they source their replacement parts at Banawe or in Pampanga or somewhere else that sell second hand auto parts. Do these repair shops and insurance companies check if the used parts they bought didn't came from stolen cars? These shops or insurance companies don't give a shit about that! Hell, even the car owner doesn't give a rat's ass where that replacement fender or door came from, he just wants his car fixed at the quickest and cheapest method!

That's why carjacking is a thriving industry in our country because their is a huge demand for cheap used car parts. It's as simple as that folks.....
