Ford Shutting Down its Car Plant in Laguna?

Ford Motor Company Philippines is shutting down its car making plant in Sta. Rosa, Laguna. This was according to a news report a few days ago. Ford is one of the biggest car makers in the world but as the Economic Recession gets worse and worse in the US and in Europe, even a giant company like Ford has to close up some car plants and factories all over the planet to save on financial resources.

The worst affected of course are the Filipino workers in that Sta. Rosa car assembly plant. Jobs are hard to find these days and that is why Pinoys are forced to find work abroad so that they can support their families back home. Hundreds of Filipinos working on that plant are going to be displaced and that's really bad but we can't do anything about it. If a company as huge as Ford is suffering from the world economic slump then we can't do anything much about it but to find work elsewhere.

I guess poor folks like us have to weather this world wide depression for a couple of years or decades more. It's not going to be easy but most Pinoys will make it through, it's been a lingering economic depression, decline, collapse and nosedive in the Philippines for so many decades now that Filipinos have gotten used to it. The everlasting difficult times are here to stay, no thanks to our crooked leaders; these hard times have made us poor folks resilient, tough and irrepressible people. If you can survive in the Philippines, you can easily make it anywhere in the world!

So to the workers of that Ford car plant in Laguna, never lose hope. We've all been through hard times before and we always make it through no matter what, you guys will survive this one too. The time will come when Pinoys won't have to go abroad to find jobs in order to support their loved ones. The time will come when Filipinos will prosper and flourish in their own country. What comes up must comes down and when you're totally down and out, the only way to go is up! Never give up Juan Dela Cruz, never give up! Keep on holding on....
