A retired and obviously mad Army soldier, took two elderly citizens as hostages and created a scary scene in Sampaloc, Manila a few days back. The suspect was reportedly angry at the couple after they refused to pay back the money that they owed him amounting to Php200,000. So after repeatedly asking them to pay up, the old soldier finally lost his patience and decided to use his .45 pistol to make his point clear to the old couple. Pay up or get shot?!
The neighbors were quick to call on the SWAT Team to help remedy the situation and the coppers were in the said location in a short time, so were the various media teams. As usual the whole place became surrounded by cops, news reporters and of course, civilians who wanted to see some live action. Yup, the whole place almost turned into a circus with the bystanders and onlookers adding to the police problem.
After a few hours, the police were able to convince the retired Army man to cool down and to talk to the police negotiator, he was later seen opening the front door of the couples' home and tossing his .45 into the street. The cops were glad to see that the suspect gave up his pistol and they stated closing in on him but they were a bit cautious why the bastard kept his other hand hidden from the coppers view. The cops kept asking him to show both his hands but he refused. The media men and the onlookers also closed in to take a better look at the suspect and then old fart suddenly....DREW A FRAGMENTATION GRENADE WITH THE SAFETY PIN OFF AT THEM!!!
The SWAT Team, the media men and all the civilian onlookers quickly, rapidly and abruptly hauled their asses away from the vicinity and scampered in all directions to avoid the damn grenade! Yup, I've never seen anybody move that fast but a live grenade will surely make you haul your ass that quick! Jesus Christ! The crazy suspect tried to frag the coppers and all the civilians in the area; this is one evil-minded old fart! He tried to kill a lot of innocent people who were only trying to do their jobs that day, what a crazy bastard!
It was a good thing that the grenade didn't explode, the people in that area should thank their lucky stars that the frag was a dud or else a lot of them would have died that day. The suspect was immediately arrested by the cops and is now behind bars. It was later discovered that he already shot both hostages and one of them was already dead and the other seriously wounded before he threw his gun out of the house and tried to blow the authorities outside. It was a story that could have ended badly, thank God the grenade didn't go off or else the body count would have been a lot higher.....
