Sen. Sotto and Sen. Legarda both Rejects the Vienna Convention of 1961.

Sometimes you get tired of seeing and hearing intelligent and scholarly people act so stupidly. On example is when Sen. Vicente Sotto III and Sen. Loren Legarda refused to accept the fact that the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) and the Department of Justice (DOJ) cannot do anything about the Panamanian Diplomat  who raped a 19 year old Filipina from exiting the Philippines unpunished. The 2 Solon kept on blaming the DFA and the DOJ personnel from letting the diplomat leave the country without serving any jail time for his crimes. Both lawmakers refused to accept the International Law on Diplomatic Relations and even insulted and ridiculed the Vienna Convention of 1961.

" From the earliest times, privileges, immunities and courtesies were extended to visiting heralds and envoys. Currently the privileges and immunities of diplomats are highly developed and universally accepted.

For centuries, the territory on which a foreign mission stood was considered an "island sovereignty" of the home state. Under the Vienna Convention of 1961 this is no longer the case. The premises of missions are inviolable, however, and host states must accord full facilities to enable diplomatic missions to perform their functions. Citizens of the host state may not enter a mission without the consent of its senior official. Missions are immune from search, requisition and attachment, and nations have a special duty to protect any mission against intrusion or damage. Diplomats cannot be arrested or charged of any crime but can only be declared  Personae non Gratae and be deported. This long-accepted principle was violated in Iran in November 1979, when a group of  Iranians invaded the U.S. Embassy and held some 50 staff members hostage for 14 months." (Source: Encarta Premium)

So you see, this International Law on Diplomatic Immunity has been implemented and observed for a long, long time; possibly for centuries by the International Community and it was again ratified by the numerous civilized member nations under the Vienna Convention of 1961 yet two of our Senators are questioning it and mocking that law! So what does Sen. Sotto and Sen. Legarda suggest to get justice for that poor Filipina who was raped by that Panamanian asshole Diplomat? Should we as a nation violate the laws agreed upon by the International Community and act like what the Iranians did in the US Embassy in Tehran, Iran in November 1979? Should we as a nation and as a people act as barbarians and savages too?

"Dura lex sed lex" - "Hard law but it is the law." Though it may seem that the said law is unfair and unjust to that poor Filipina who was raped by that Panamanian Ambassador, we as a nation must accept the laws made by the entire civilized world. So I wish both Senators would stop questioning the Vienna Convention of 1961, the Diplomatic Immunity Law and the International Laws because they look more and more stupid every time they reject, mock and refuse to acknowledge it. Let's face it, both of them are just grandstanding. They're only superior and intellectual when it comes to stealing taxpayers' money! Filthy Dumb Asssed Politicians!!!
