The Philippine Senate is set to investigate a Panamanian Diplomat for allegedly raping a 19-yr old Filipina here in our country. Yup, here we go again, another Senate Investigation! Some of the Senators are irked at at the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) for not filing charges against the diplomat but the DFA Personnel cannot do anything about it. Their hands are literally due to the Diplomatic Immunity that is provided by International Law to all diplomatic agents and their staffs.
Diplomats are immune from criminal laws and in most cases from civil and administrative jurisdiction too. Those who commit crimes are just sent home as PERSONAE NON GRATAE although diplomats enjoying their privileges and immunities should respect the laws and regulations of the host nation or state. Even if diplomatic relations is broken off with another nation, the host state must still respect and protect the mission premises. (Source: Encarta Premium)
But a few Senators insist on investigating the issue, particularly Sen. Vicente Sotto III. You know, the actor-comedian turned statesman who looks like Abraham Lincoln now with his new bearded look? Lol. I think he knows well enough that the DFA and our country can't do anything to these diplomats who violate our laws except to send them back home to their own countries but I guess he just wants to grandstand. Remember, next year is Election year and politicians just can't let the chance to become famous go by without exploiting it to their fullest advantage.
It's either that or his really dumb and stupid not to know about the Diplomatic Immunity provided for by the International Law to Foreign Envoys. It's true that all Filipinos should condemn this outrageous crime committed by a foreigner against a fellow Pinoy but another Senate Inquiry? Crap, these buggers are going to waste taxpayer's money again on something that they can't even change or remedy. Unless the Philippine Senate can change the International Laws in our favor....Nah, that's never going to happen folks! We all know that!
So don't fall for this scumbags drama. It's all for the next Elections which is about a year from now and even if he's not running, a politician will never stop himself from showing off. If you still swallow hook, line and sinker that these politician assholes are saying then I guess we'll never get rid of these Traditional Politicians out of Government. Never trust these assholes because all they know is to LIE, CHEAT AND STEAL, trust me on this one guys. I've seen all their kind; they're all up to no good!!!
