This Blog Is For Them....

I decided to make my own blog last January because I am fed up with the graft and corruption in my country. Ever since I entered college, I have noticed the increasing numbers of Filipinos who are in poverty. After finishing college and started working temporarily in a Government office, I personally experienced the way Politicians and Government Officials waste lots and lots of public funds on useless things and for their own benefit. Millions and billions of tax payers money going straight to our leaders pockets and through the years, it has gotten much, much worse....

Useless things like lavish parties for the public officials, expensive but useless beautification projects and various over-priced construction undertakings that are unnecessary and are substandard. I have seen how the poor Filipino have now become more and more destitute. I have seen sick Filipinos who needlessly die of tuberculosis and other curable deceases because they could not afford to see a doctor and buy medicines or eat nutritious food. Yes, the Politicians have built many public hospitals but oftentimes there is no free medicines for the poorest of the poor. I have seen Filipinos who have died of hunger and malnutrition...while Politicians wine and dine at fancy restaurants abroad and pay more than a million pesos and even shamelessly brag about it.

So I made this blog for the poorest of the poor. This is for the Filipinos who daily scavenge the garbage dump sites for tin cans, plastic bottles, cartons and whatever materials that is worth selling to the junk shops so that they could buy their next meal. For the impoverished Juan Dela Cruz who sleeps under the bridge or on the sidewalk with nothing but a piece of cardboard to shield him and his family from the cold pavement. For the fast food chain garbage bin scavenger looking for leftovers to eat which they popularly call "pagpag" to fill their famished stomachs. For the poor pedicab drivers who bust their balls pushing those bicycle pedals day in and day out, under the blistering heat of the sun or during the monsoon so they can feed their kids. They may not know how to read, write and understand the English language but this blog is still for them....

This blog is for the tricycle, jeepney, taxi, bus and truck drivers who make their living out on the busy and polluted highways every single day and still end up earning lesser than before because of the high prices of fuel. This is for the street vendors who ply their trade on the sidewalks and are regularly driven away, accosted, berated, their wares confiscated or worse, destroyed by the authorities; just like how former MMDA Asshole Chairman Bayani Fernando did during the past Administration. He gave the order for all MMDA personnel to destroy fruits, vegetables and other foodstuff. This is for the poor farmers who have been tilling Hacienda Luisita and other vast farmlands owned by the rich for many generations and are still in deep poverty and most of them ironically, landless and in the brink of starvation. Yes, most of them may be illiterates and most are not well educated enough to understand this but still, this blog is for them....

This is for the daily/minimum wag earners, factory workers and yes the jobless Filipinos. This for the Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) who are forced to leave their families behind and face various human rights abuses and maltreatment from their foreign employers in a far away land so they can support their loved ones back home. This is for the activists and the human rights groups that constantly fight for the freedom and for the betterment of all poor Filipinos, although it may be a battle that they may never, never win.

This blog was never written for the Rich and Famous, the Corrupt Politicians and Government Officials nor is it made for the Greedy Businessman. This was never written for the people who have not cared for the plight of the poor. This is not for those who only know and appreciate the perfect things in life, those that only care about the beautiful and exquisite stuff that they always want to acquire and can easily buy no matter how expensive they are. This blog is not for the people who think the whole world is perfectly safe, peaceful and blissful and that every person is treated equally and with dignity. This is not for those who think the whole world is a Paradise.

This blog is for the human being who cares about the the plight of the underprivileged, the one who's against the growing inequality in society all  over the world and the widespread insensitivity and gluttony of the rich and powerful individuals or companies. This blog is for the person who thinks not only of himself but is concerned about the abuses made by the oligarchs of society. This blog was never not meant for the squeamish, delicate, prim, prudish and nauseous individuals. The choice is yours to read or not to read, the choice is always yours......
