Sen. Lito "Leon Guerrero" Lapid is being investigated by the Ombudsman for alleged ill-gotten wealth. It seems that the Ombudsman have noticed his Grand Mansion in Pampanga where the Senator used to be the Governor for many years. The Ombudsman should have made the inquiry many years ago as it is obvious that the cowboy wanna be, actor turned-politician have been stealing public funds to build his Western-movie style estate, complete with paddocks or corral for his horses.
Yes Sirs, Leon Guerrero whom the Senator portrayed in his countless "Pinoy-Western" movie flicks in the past as the poor, penniless and lowly Filipino cowboy who defended the abused community from the rich landowners and their henchmen turned out to be a CORRUPT, IMMORAL AND A CROOKED POLITICIAN TOO. JUST LIKE THE VILLAINS IN HIS OLD MOVIES.
I guess you just can't believe everything you see in the movies way back then and now. Just look at Ex-Pres. Joseph "Erap" Estrada and his son Sen. Jinggoy Estrada, both are actors turned politicians who used to depict themselves as the defender of the oppressed in their action flicks. But later on they also turned out to be scumbag politicians too. Same goes to father and son tandem, Sen. Ramon Revilla Sr., and now Sen. Ramon "Bong" Revilla Jr. and the rest of their gang in the world of politics.
Everybody in Politics and in Government is crooked and it's no surprise if all them have ill-gotten wealth. That is simply the reality in this country; Politicians spend millions and millions of pesos to stay in power not so they could serve the country and its populace but because they want to enrich and keep on enriching themselves from the tax payers money. That is simply the painful, horrible but honest truth....in my poor country, the Philippines.
