A female Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) died in Mongolia under suspicious circumstances. The victim, Terril Atieza was working as a domestic helper for a consul in Mongolia when she reportedly committed suicide.
Her remains were autopsied by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) when it arrived here in the Philippines. It was then discovered that her heart was missing and her body bore stab wounds. Her cadaver also showed bruises and was evidently beaten and that she suffered some form of torture.
The family of the OFW is asking the Philippine Government to help them find justice for their loved one. The suspects being abroad and possibly rich and influential people may hinder the justice that they are seeking, it may not be easily attainable by her grieving family.
This is one of the many cases of abused and maltreated OFWs abroad. Filipinos who are honestly working to support their families here and they end up battered or worse, dead. The Government should something about our OFWs rights and welfare but then again how can we trust and have faith in our leadership when all they do is bicker and argue about politics.

ReplyDeleteTama ka sa iyong pananaw. Kailangan natin ng suporta at pagbabago lalo na sa ating mga liderato. Ngunit alam naman nating lahat na talamak na at di na basta-basta mababago at masusugpo ang mga tiwaling ugali at nakasanayang maling gawain na ng ating mga namumuno.

Sana nga ay magbago pa ang ating mga namumuno at tuluyan na nila tayong iahon sa kahirapan, kaguluhan at kawalang direksyon....
