Hacienda Luisita Farmers vs. RCBC Workers and Guards.

Tension was high at the Hacienda Luisita when about 300 farmers prevented 100 RCBC Bank workers and security guards from putting up barbed wire fences around the 500 hectares of land bought by the bank from the clan of President Noynoy Aquino. The farmers armed with bolos (machete), sickles and other bladed farm tools were threatening the RCBC guards who were armed with shotguns. The RCBC guards were instructed by the bank to build the fence to keep the farmers from entering and tilling the land.

The local police force of Tarlac had a hard time trying to pacify both sides. It was a touch and go situation where a bloody and deadly clash can instantly happen. It was a scary scenario with all that sharp and deadly farm tools and loaded shotguns in the hands of angry and enraged individuals. The farmers were claiming the land as part of the Hacienda Luisita which the Supreme Court had earlier ordered to be distributed to them.

If Pres. Aquino is really serious and truthful in his promise to help the poor Filipino people then he should act now and obey the Supreme Court ruling that the Hacienda Luisita be distributed to the farmers. The Supreme Court ruling should not be affected by the on-going Impeachment Trial of the Chief Justice since it was not the accused magistrate that solely ordered it. The Aquino-Cojuangco clan will be justly compensated by the Government for their land according to its proper value so they'll end up richer more than before. The Aquino-Cojuangco clan should stop selling or converting the vast farm land into subdivisions, malls, golf courses, industrial zones, etc. to deprive the farmers of what is duly awarded to them.

The President's statement that he no longer owns any part of the Hacienda Luisita is pure bullshit if you ask me. Every Tom, Dick and Harry knows that he still owns parts of that massive property. Even if its true that he no longer owns any part of it then he must implement the rule of law as President and not as a member of the Aquino-Cojuangco Clan. The longer the President delays the distribution of the Hacienda Luisita to the farmers; more and more Filipinos are going to doubt and question his sincerity to the people of the Philippines. Not all Filipinos are dumb sir, so Mr. President, will you please stop jerking us around?
