The Unsung Heroines....

In our country where Graft and Corruption is prevalent in our society, it is not easy to find people that are honest, sincere and true to their work or to their fellow human beings. Most of our Politicians and Government Personnel are racketeers, double-crosser or swindlers. We even have Police Officials who are kidnappers. killers and hoodlums. It is not easy finding heroes here....

But then there are thousands of supermen and wonder women out there, we just don't notice them or we ignore them in our everyday existence. Don't you see or even notice them? How about the thousands of  volunteer NURSES who work in various Government and Private Hospitals without any salary or allowance? They keep on performing their sworn duty to take care of patients even at the weirdest hours if the night. They expose themselves to serious illnesses and infections and yet, they are not even compensated for all their efforts.

Yes, sir. No salary, no allowance, hell, not even a free cup of coffee or a small bowl of soup for their sacrifices. Nurses here in our country are one of the best examples of our good and honest citizens. They work hard but they often get abused and sometimes maltreated by their patients or by their employers. Still, they keep on performing their sworn oath, to care for the patients; but to their detriment because it's all free or at a very small salary.

I love, appreciate and salute all the Filipino nurses in our country. I acknowledge their devotion, commitment and perseverance to their duty. They truly deserve to be called as the "Unsung Heroes" of our nation. So next time you find yourself or one of your loved ones inside a hospital getting some form of medical treatment or care, give our nurses a little respect and lots of appreciation for their "unpaid" services.
