Filipinas victimized by White Slavers in Sabah, Malaysia.

A special news report of a local network here in the Philippines revealed that hundreds of Filipino women are being recruited by unscrupulous persons to work as domestic helpers or waitresses in Sabah, Malaysia. The women were duped to work in decent jobs but once they arrive in Malaysia they are sold and locked up in brothels where they are forced to have sex with more than 10 different men everyday without any form of protection from sexually transmitted deseases.

A lot of these women are enticed to work in Sabah which is very near Mindanao, the Southern most part of the Philippines by illegal recruiters who promise them high paying jobs abroad. Authorities here said they have a hard time stopping the illegal trade of human trafficking in the area because of many small motorized boats that "smuggle" the women to Sabah through the sea. Most of these poor women travel without any documents and are therefore helpless when they end up abused and maltreated abroad.

It's really difficult to believe that white slavery still exist in such countries but it does happen a lot. Women are forced into prostitution and they cannot do anything about it once they have fallen into the hands of these white slavers in Sabah. These women are exposed to different sexually transmittable diseases like HIV/AIDS. Some of these brothels are being owned and managed by Filipinos and that's what bothers me most. Filipinos exploiting and manipulating their own kind, that's really disgusting.

Our Government should do everything to stop these white slavers and human traffickers at all cost. We can't accept their reason that it's impossible to prevent such abuses on our women because of the easy way of smuggling them to Sabah, Malaysia. If that is the case then our Government should coordinate with the  Malaysian Authorities to form a task force consisting of Police Forces from both countries to rescue these hapless women and to arrest and jail their traffickers. Something must be done right now, the only way to stop these human traffickers is to act fast and decisively.
