Long Wait for NBI Clearance.

A lot of complaints have been aired by concerned citizens about the time-consuming process of acquiring a National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Clearance. Applicants have to go to the NBI offices as early as 11pm just to fall in line so that they could file their applications the next office day. It's like having to camp out at the surrounding area of every NBI office in the country; huge numbers of people are sleeping at the sidewalks just to secure a spot at the office the next day.

Is this the result of the computerization process of the Bureau? If it is then it's a lot, lot worse than the old method many years back. In those days an applicant can get his or her NBI Clearance in less than half a day without having to fall in line at the wee hours of the night or at the early hours of the morning. Many applicants are fed up at the stupidity of our Government Agencies  which instead of improving their services seems to be going back to the Stone Age.

A lot of these applicants are ordinary workers who have to get get the clearance to show their employers that they have no criminal records. Most of the Overseas Filipino Workers also have to get the said clearance before they can apply or renew their passports. So you can just imagine what great delay and setbacks that the NBI Clearance lag is doing to these people.

In these modern times where everything is moving forward at a fast pace, our Government Agencies are moving backwards at at incredible speed. I wonder who pocketed that yearly budget that is supposed to modernize the Bureau. And they have the nerve to call themselves the "top agency" when it comes to investigating crimes when they can't even issue clearances on time. Morons!!!
