Filipino boxer Karlo Maguinto lost the fight for his life yesterday. He succumbed to brain injury after his fight a few days ago. It turns out his brain was heavily injured during the boxing match, causing an internal hemorrhage which exerted so much pressure inside his skull that his brain was literally squashed. End result was a deep coma and later on, his death.
Poor guy, he was just starting his professional career and this happens. Now his family is all alone and they must struggle to support themselves with him gone. The Game and Amusement Board should try to help the families of these boxers, they should be given livelihood projects and educational support for their kids. The boxers and their families should not be left alone to face the loss of their loved ones....
